Dyslexia Assessments

In-person or online diagnostic dyslexia assessments which can be used to:

gain greater self-knowledge regarding skills and abilities
-
apply for Disabled Student Allowance (DSA) for university study
-
highlight support needs and strategies for studying
-
identify workplace strategies and support requests for reasonable adjustments at work
Cost: £495 (+ additional costs if travel outside Portsmouth and/or room hire required).​

These assessments usually take 2-3 hours and are available for people aged 16 and over.

Study Skills Tutoring
One-to-one tutoring for university and college students to develop study skills such as organisation, time management, understanding and planning assignments, academic writing, research, referencing, presenting, revision and exam techniques.

Strategies will be tailored to the client's preferences, with consideration of any neurodivergence such as dyslexia, ADHD, autism, etc.

Sessions are usually held online via Zoom. In-person sessions are available within Portsmouth for an additional room booking fee. Clients can book a single session or a series of sessions. Normally, 3-6 sessions are recommended, dependent on needs, though longer term support is also available. Age 16+ only.
Cost: £50 per hour or buy 3 sessions for £135
Neurodiversity Coaching
One-to-one coaching to support the development of workplace skills. This can include enhancing self-understanding and acceptance; exploring the use of assistive technology; developing organisational and prioritisation skills; refining writing and reading strategies; delivering confident presentations; and strengthening communication skills for workplace and social settings.

My name is Sarah Gilbert. I am a highly experienced dyslexia assessor, specialist tutor and neurodiversity coach with a history of supporting young people and adults within colleges, universities and workplaces.
With more than 15 years’ experience supporting neurodivergent people (dyslexic, ADHD, autistic, dyspraxic, etc), I offer individualised support adapted to each person’s needs and preferences. My approach is collaborative and creative, working closely with clients to identify strategies that genuinely fit their strengths and goals. My aim is to empower people to build the self-awareness, skills and confidence they need to thrive in their studies, workplaces and lives.

As a fully qualified dyslexia assessor, I hold a current Assessment Practising Certificate (APC), allowing me to provide diagnostic reports that meet the requirements for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications in higher education.
